Missions of PALS
  • To promote and support activities to increase public awareness of autism spectrum disabilities and the availability and services of the UCF-CARD.
  • To support innovative priority programs identified by the UCF-CARD.
  • To provide UCF-CARD with auxiliary financial resources not fundable under the State of Florida guidelines for the UCF-CARD operations.
  • To establish calendar of fund raising activities, locations and form committees to accomplish foundation goals.
What is the purpose of UCF-CARD?
  • To serve individuals with diagnosis of autism or other related disorders. (as defined in section 393.063, Florida Statutes)
  • To provide technical assistance and consultation, utilizing all available community resources, to clients of the regional Center, the client's family, school districts, and other service agencies and individuals as appropriate.
  • To disseminate information about the UCF-CARD services.
  • To provide public education to increase awareness of the public about autism and related disabilities.
  • To develop a Constituency Board to provide advice on policies, priorities, and activities regarding the implementation of the CARD programs and services.
  • To create a database consisting of referrals and resources for the catchment areas.
  • To provide professional training for personnel who work with constituents.
  • To provide individualized and family support and consultation.
