Greeting From UCF CARD

UCF CARD is now open for business! We appreciate your patience as we set up the office, learn about our constituents, and begin to serve you.
The office is currently staffed by two full-time family support specialists, Terri Daly and Marilee Emerson, and a full-time officer manager, Irene Mazloom.  Dr. Chad Nye oversees the Center operation and coordinates activities on a part-time basis.  We are happy to have found talented and committed professionals to serve the Central Florida area.  We'll tell you more about these individuals in upcoming issues.
We now have over 200 constituents on our registry.  However, some of our

information is not complete or current.  If you would like to contact us to check  whether we have the correct information for you family, please call Irene at 407-823-2176.  We would also appreciate updated pictures of the constituents (small enough to fit in the box at the center column).
Although we have a large number of constituents on our registry, we know we are missing many of the eligible individuals in the area.  Without being in the registry, we are unable to  provide these constituents with newsletters, information about upcoming trainings and conferences, and individualized support.  Please share the newsletter with others who may be interested in taking advantage of CARD's offerings.  We will also be creating a professional registry, so let your child's educators know they can register too.

Upcoming Events and Scholarships

Please see the attached flyer announcing an upcoming presentation about Developmental Services.
The Summer Institute on Autism will be held in Tallahassee, June 14-18th, 1999.  participants may attend 2, 4, or 5 days and receive course credit, in service or CE units.  UCF CARD will provide up to 10 scholarships to attend.  If you or your child's teacher or speech therapist is interested, please call or email by April 30th.  Scholarships will be drawn randomly from submissions on May 1.
